This is like old times, sitting in a coffee shop and blogging. Takes me back to Nola again except that now I’m thinking China and Japan.
I remembered going to a Noh play in Tokyo when I was there in 1970. Noh is the oldest form of theater in Japan from the 14th century. Here is a link if you are interested in Noh: www.ntj.jac.go.jp/english/index.html
I thought that it would be good to take my brother to see at least one act from Noh and we may even try to see some Kabuki if possible. It seems that it would be easy to figure all of this out with the on-line resources.
1st the internet went off and on yesterday so connections became impossible at best. Then Mike called and said that he wanted to make reservations using his hotel points for our stay in Tokyo but I needed to choose between the available hotels. By the late afternoon the internet was so frustrating and maps impossible to find.
Last night we went to the bookstore and bought a Lonely Planet guide book to Tokyo with a pull out map. This morning I located the hotels on the map, the National Kabuki Theater and approximate location of the National Noh Theater. Finally I could make some informed decisions and Mike is making our reservations.
At least one thing is taken care of.
