Day Dreaming

Funny how a day can go.

This morning, as is my morning routine I got my coffee and sat down at the computer. I usually check the e-mails, then facebook and MySpace and then enter several contests.

As I read my messages I looked at my coffee mug, it was the one I bought in Nola from Café Du Monde, like the ones used at the café. I remembered sitting in Café Du Monde drinking my café au lait, blogging and people watching.

As I sat at my kitchen table daydreaming about the time spent at Café Du Monde I got a message from someone in a group I’ve just joined on facebook, a group of Jaguar owners. He was interested in learning about our car. Then another person and another sent a message wanting to get to know us.

I sat at the table remembering driving the Ferrari and the Jag, thinking how fun it would be to drive one or the other to nola. Then thinking about how the Ferrari sounds when it is wound up; oh, pure music for the soul. The Jag with the wind blowing thru my hair and it purring down the road.

I was jolted to reality with the message that we must post a photo of our Jag within 14 days to the Jag site or be banished forever. Banished! Wow. We were snubbed at a Ferrari meet by the LM’s, hirechacy you know, but banished well that is like being sent to Siberia!

The mission became one to make the cars presentable; we couldn’t have a photo out there of them being used as storage containers. What would the club think? Then they would really banish us, oh the shame we would feel.

We went out to the garage and attacked the mess with a vengeance. The wheelbarrow was piled so high with junk that it fell over. The trash can overflowed, so much stuff that the path to the gate was blocked. (we didn’t feel so bad when the guy across the street about fell down in his garage trying to get to his kid’s bike)

Finally the cars were cleaned and vacuumed; except for Chelsea’s paw prints which if cleaned off we would be banished from life as we know it by Christabel. We can actually walk around the cars! We found rope, lots and lots of rope. Things are really put in their places, well lots of stuff is.

We still have lots to do and get rid of in the garage, but we have uncovered our dreams. When we left the farm all we had were the cars, our belongings and our family. The cars were in storage but as long as we had them we knew that we would get back on our feet someday. Now the someday is within reach and it is exciting.
