I first started blogging the day I left to work Hurricane Gustav and wrote nearly every day about the funny little things in my life. Now I’ve been working claims from a wind and rain event here, staying in my own house and I’ve been so swamped with work, helping out with grandkids, hosting parties in between claims that I’ve had virtually no time to write or go to the gym.
The week before Christmas we’d gone to Death Valley to celebrate our anniversary and while we were there I got a call putting me on standby to work storms in the UK. I’d maybe be leaving the day after Christmas.
We came home the following day and I really had to get the Christmas presents made when the wind started blowing and rains hit here at home. By the next day the claims were rolling in. I had to put the fabric aside and start working claims, but to make it worse is that I had to work the claims as quickly as possible since I was likely leaving the following week. Plus Christmas presents needed to be made and wrapped and the house was a total wreak and we had the kids coming the next day. OMG I worked so hard.
So here I am, claims are winding down, the UK still has not approved any of our work visas and all of the team are still on standby, and I’m still home. The bags turned out so great, my sister-in-law in MN carried hers to her local food co-op who asked if they could market them. HUM, should I sew up several to send them? It is flattering to have a store want to carry them but I need to wait until I really catch up with the claims and get the Christmas decorations off the living room floor.
