After a day of recovery for Justin and Dale, me doing word games in old newspapers, kids playing at the river, and generally a whole lot of nothing, we ended with a huge fire, marshmallows, smores and more wine.
Justin had discussed a 2nd overnight hike on Tues but they were too wiped out to do a 2nd hike. So instead of a hike we went for one more dip in the river where Justin and Christine dunked themselves.
We then celebrated Justin’s birthday at our campsite with a special-made dinner of meatloaf, potatoes and carrots. We’d brought a bottle of champagne and of course, good wine which went well. Birthday dessert was a gluten free brownie cake topped with whipped cream.
A big bonfire for our last night.
